The days of questioning grew with each passing season. The urge to see each day to its end faded. Aya wandered listlessly each year questioning why she was still around. Why was she born with such power to extend her life beyond anyone's predictions? Why had she not ended the misery yet?
She knew she was still on this earth because hope still lay within her. One day mages would stand beside non-mages with joy in their hearts. That mages would not have to hide themselves, remaining in the shadows as before. Yet she was afraid of the past repeating itself.
Year after year, she wandered the earth, helping where she could yet finding fear in mo
A branch broke beneath the man. He paused; worried that he had given away his presence. Then he remembered he wasn't trying to be quiet. He stopped and shook himself. His mind was always so quick to imagine adventures and things. Got him into trouble more than a few times. Glancing up to the sky, he noticed unique colours from the corner of his vision. Turning, he found a young lady asleep on a large branch of a tree.
The man didn't know what to make of the young lady. She wasn't dressed as a begger although her clothes were a little worse for wear. Her skin didn't have the weathered look of working under the sign and even the way she slept
The Prince yawned, stepping out from the doorway into the blinding sunlight of the morning, His men were waiting for him with the horses already saddled. Around them the small town bustled to life for another day of work.
There wasn't much different from this town and the dozens they had passed through in the last few weeks. At every town he would visit their head and speak briefly to a gathering before retiring to the local Inn for the evening. The next morning they would set out once again to move on the town and repeat.
They all mounted up and slowly made their way out of town. A few people bowed as they passed but most when on about da
Her age, the year, even the month she had long since lost track of.
Wandering for so long she did not know where she was,
what country or even continent. But it doesn't matter. The world has
changed. Countries as they once were no longer exist, the continents
themselves shifted.
The land was fractured, a mesh of what was and what is. Bits of the past
forgotten yet visible, covered in the new earth that had taken over. In
some ways the disaster was a godsend, fracturing the human race, forcing
them to return to a time before technology allowing the earth time to
heal from the devastation wrought by man. One can only hope man will be
This day has finally come. I have waited all my life for this I think. I will truly belong somewhere after today. These ran through Alurias mind as she stood off to the side, trying to listen to the rest of the ceremony. She was waiting her turn to be sworn in and take her post as Earth Representative on the High Council of Mages in Illarsis. It would also mean that she would become the highest ranked mage on Earth. She was 16. In the last six years she had traveled around much of Earth meeting many other mages. She had seen such wondrous sights she has never been able to tell her earth friends or her family. All her souvenirs she has l

Explosions rupture the earth around us
Shots cry out in the blackness
Birds have long since taken flight
Flown away from all that was here
Filled with water and rats
Stenches mark the passing
The trenches kill as much as they protect
Bodies litter above
In the untouchable area betweens sides
Ever victory mean too many deaths
War is death, only death
Remember,
The days the soldiers fought,
on the blood soaked earth.
Remember,
The days the bombers used,
their weapons of destruction.
Remember,
The cries of starving children,
tossed from their homes.
Remember,
The concentration camps of Jews,
forced there to die.
Remember,
The loved ones scarred or lost,
in the counltess battles for glory.
Remember,
The families at home,
waiting for their loved ones to return.
Remember.
A small lake lapped the shore of a deserted campground. His aged body, clothed in an elegant attire of fine brown woolen trousers with a matching green jacket adorned with only small silver cuff links turned, noticing Lady Aluria not far off glancing around. He hadn't been here for some time and even then it was only for a short while. This was where he had approached her, a young wide-eyed ten year old and asked her to learn to use her magic and to help fellow earth mages. No one had known then the impact she would have on Ilarsis nor the decision she must now make.
She was now in turmoil trying to decide whether to accept the position as
Mirai. Future.
A word of endless possibilities.
Yume. Dream.
A rolling film of endless versions of the future.
We can not have one without the other.
Mirai ha Yume to isho ni ugokimasu.
The future moves together with dreams,
Hand in hand.
Ashita no tame. Itsumo no tame.
For tomorrow. For forever.
An endless path of life.

That's right! The wedding is booked for Aug. 11th 2012^^ I bought my wedding dress last week too! Blew the budget on that but kind of my fault for choosing a place that was a bit expensive. I've gotten over the price (just had to look at the pictures multiple times and remind myself that the deposit in non-refundable) so just excited now. Next up is to find a photographer and a officiant.
The gals in Geoff's family usually do a Christmas get together but since his sister is also getting married next year (AND my best friend whom I am the Maid of Honor for) we're going to try painting wine glasses for the head table. We'll see how well I do c
It's so early in the morning, I actually just got into work but figured I should make an update.
Geoff and I bought our first place! That's right, we're home-owners now. It's a one bedroom and den on the sixth floor of a new building overlooking the Fraser river with views of the Pattello bridge and the skytrain bridge.
Moved on Saturday so it's still a bit of a mess but not that bad since the place and insuite storage so all the boxes are hidden.
Well back to work I go!
The 2010 Winter Olympics that has been shoved down my throat since Vancouver was choosen is finally here. Don't get me wrong, I've got nothing against the Olympics I was just getting extremely tired of not being able to go a day without hearing about it.
So far we've had excellent weather. Was raining yesterday morning but stopped by 9am and has been sunny with clouds the rest of the time. Unfortunately the downpour during the night caused problems at Cypress, one of our local mountains where some of the snowboarding and skiing events are happening. The area for general admission ticket holders is a mess so all their tickets are being refund
